13. Fateful Day

13. Fateful Day

It’s been exactly three months since Lunaria’s transition and today was the day when the summoning spell, to summon Lunaria back from the past, was most likely to be activated. For the past few days, Lunaria has been under a defensive spell, trying to stay as close to Mikhail’s side as possible.

Today she and Mikhail, cooped up in the living room, and stayed on high alert since the morning.

“I wonder if I’ll be summoned back today…”

“Today is the most critical day of my life.”

“Will the magic suddenly occur without warning?”

“That’s what happened when you came here. All of a sudden there was an intense glow, and you appeared right away.”

Mikhail looked at Lunaria and smiled.

“When I first saw you there, I thought an angel or a spirit had appeared. It was such a beautiful sight.”

Lunaria’s cheeks flushed red in surprise at his sudden flirt. She was so embarrassed that she couldn’t look away from Mikhail’s beautiful dark green eyes.

“I was surprised when I heard that you came from two hundred years in the future, but I still thought you were an angel. I was planning to protect you until the day you left. But now, I can’t believe that I’m thinking of stealing you away by force. Lunaira, will you be mine and mine alone?”

“Yes…I want to live with you.”

Mikhail’s sad face reflected in Lunaria’s watery eyes. The distance between the two slowly decreased, and Lunaria gently closed her eyes. Mikhail placed his hand gently on her cheek, and their lips met. Suddenly, at that moment, the surroundings of Lunaria began to glow brightly, and Mikhail was knocked away from her.

“Damn it…!”

“Mikhail!”

Mikhail flew and his body struck against the shelf. He barely let out a sound as he fell to the floor.

“It’s okay! the defensive magic has also activated!”

As Mikhail said this, a complex magic circle spread around Lunaria’s feet, and then a green light formed a cage around her. But for some reason, the defensive magic was lifted and the green cage disappeared.

“Huh?! Why was it lifted?”

Mikhail desperately tried to approach Lunaria, but the strong and violent magic power, which was being emitted, prevented him from doing so.

“Mikhail! I’m already…”

Right now, her body was becoming more and more transparent as time passed.

“Lunaria! Lunaria!”

Mikhail screamed at the top of his lungs and tried his best to reach out to her, but the white light that enveloped Lunaria didn’t care about Mikhail and shone even brighter. Finally, with a strong flash, it took Lunaria away.

“Damn it! Lunariaaaaa!!!”

Mikhail’s sorrowful cry echoed in the quiet room, and he felt as if everything he felt at that moment was nothing but a lie.

The only thing left was the moonstone pendant that Lunaria always wore. Perhaps it was blown away by the impact of the transmigration and lied on the ground, beside where Lunaria disappeared from.
